On June 13, 2025, a naming and delivery ceremony was held in Nantong for JIC Leasing’s newly built 63,500-DWT bulk carrier Pacific Wealth. Qin Qun, Party Secretary and Chairwoman of JIC Leasing, Wang Hui, General Manager of Zhejiang Seaport Group, and Jin Xing, Chairman of Jiangsu Haitong, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

In her remarks, Qin Qun expressed her gratitude to Jiangsu Haitong, the shipbuilder. She noted that the maritime shipping sector is a key strategic development direction for JIC Leasing. The successful delivery of Pacific Wealth showcases Jiangsu Haitong's strong shipbuilding capabilities, and marks the first successful collaboration between Zhejiang Seaport Group and JIC Leasing. She expressed hope that the delivery of the vessel would pave the way for mutual benefit and win-win outcomes between both parties, and become a “blue engine” for joint high-quality development.

Wang Hui stated that Zhejiang Seaport Group, as a subsidiary of Zhejiang Communications Investment Group Co., Ltd., serves as the Group’s platform for development of waterway transportation. The delivery of the modern Pacific Wealth will help optimize the Group’s fleet age structure, significantly enhance its transport capacity, and provide ongoing momentum for the high-quality development path set out in the 14thFive-Year Plan.

Jin Xing remarked that the 63,500-DWT bulk carrier series is a flagship vessel type by Jiangsu Haitong. The delivery of the Pacific Wealth demonstrates Jiangsu Haitong's robust shipbuilding capabilities and advanced technological expertise, and stands as a testament to the deep friendship and mutual trust between the shipbuilder and its partners, including the shipowner, classification society, and design institute.

At the delivery ceremony, Qin Qun cut the ribbon and unveiled the new vessel. The Pacific Wealth complies with the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase III standards and Tier III emission requirements. It offers outstanding advantages in energy efficiency and environmental performance over previous vessels of the same class on the market, particularly in terms of fuel consumption and sailing range.

Representatives and guests from Zhejiang Shipping (Singapore), Lloyd’s Register, the Marshall Islands flag state, and China Merchants Bank Shanghai Free Trade Zone Branch also attended the ceremony.
